Abstract

1333447 Microwave resonators LIGNES TELEGRAPHIQUES ET TELEPHONIQUES 20 Oct 1971 [6 Nov 1970 (2)] 48765/71 Heading H1W [Also in Division H3] A microwave resonator comprises a circuit member 22 in the form of an annular metallic coating 22 on the substrate 20 of a microstrip line 21, 23 to which the resonator is capacitatively coupled. The substrate may consist of a magnetic insulator, e.g. YIG, and the resonator may be tuned by variation of a magnetic field directed transverse to the substrate. The application of the resonator to a microwave generator is described (see Division H3). The Specification illustrates the variation of resonant frequency with the dimensions of the annulus and with the magnetic field.
