Abstract
1,175,114. Reflex klystrons; tuning cavity resonators. SPERRY RAND CORP. 12 Dec., 1967 [13 Dec., 1966], No. 56363/67. Headings H1D and H1W. The tuning probe 9 for a reflex klystron is of dielectric material and has a conductive ianer end 5 lying in a region of high magnetic field strength. The probe may be made of alumina and may have an end portion 5 of reduced cross-section which is coated with nickel and copper. Only the dielectric part makes contact with the walls of the cavity 6. The probe may be radially adjustable within the cavity by means of a differential screw 10, 11. A collar 17 threaded upon the screw 10 limits the inward movement of the prode upon contact with a fixed ring 19.
