758,071. Drawing arrangements for spinning machines. HARBECK, M., STEFFEN, H. W., [trading as HEIDENRIECH & HARBECK]. Aug. 17, 1954 [Oct. 13, 1953], No. 23859/54. Addition to 757,387. Class 120 (2). A spinning frame as in the parent Specification provided with a pair of drafting belts urged together by a plurality of pressure members which lie closely side by side has one of the belts provided with ribs or grooves running in the longitudinal direction of the belt. The ribs or grooves 20 preferably face outwardly, but internal grooves may be provided. In order that the grooved belt 5 may have a sensitive control of the fibres, it is as thin as possible in cross-section. Belt supporting rollers 6, 7, 8 are mounted in a common frame that also carries a bearing pin 10 on which is mounted a holder 11 adjustable by a bar 12 and carrying a member 14 resiliently pressed against the inside of the grooved belt 5 by a spring 15. The holder 11 also supports a roller 9 and a plurality of spring rods 16 whose ends 17 press against the inner surface of the belt 5. Adjustment of the pressure of these rods may be effected by a setting member 18 slidable in a slot 19 in the holder 11. A support member, such as a roller 22, may be mounted within the belt 4. The belt 5 is preverably made of a polyester-di-isocyanate synthetic resin. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 516,466.
