757,809. Walk-type tractors. ALLEN & SONS (OXFORD), Ltd., J. Dec. 2, 1954 [Dec. 2, 1953], No. 33450/53. Class 79 (1). In a two-wheeled walk-type tractor having rearwardly-extending guiding and controlling handles 17 and capable of mounting an implement 16 at the front, the wheels 15 are mounted on axles 18 carried by the lower ends of arms 19 pivoted at their upper ends 20 to side aprons 13, 14 depending from a platform 11 carrying an engine 12, whereby the wheels are movable forwardly or rearwardly of a vertical plane containing the centre of gravity of the engine, thus permitting the tractor and implement to be balanced. As shown, the engine 12 drives the implement and the wheels 15, the latter through pulleys 25, belts 26, pulleys 27 and sprockets 28 chain-connected to sprockets 29 secured to the wheels. The aprons 13, 14 have slots 22, 24 permitting the arms 19 to be clamped in their desired positions.
