Dec. 24, 1953, Jan. 11. 1954], No. 6522/54. Classes 7(3) and 7(6) [Also in Group XIX] Carburetter systems and fuel injection arrangements in which the fuel supply is controlled by eduction pressure acting on a diaphragm are described in connection with indicators for fuel consumption in relation to revs. per minute (see Group XIX). The fuel pump 141 of a diesel engine is controlled by a diaphragm 146 connected by a lead 150 to the eduction manifold. A petrol engine has an auxiliary inlet 64 to the jet chamber which is controlled by a valve 69 connected to a diaphragm 70. At a given throttle opening the diaphragm is allowed to rise as suction decreases beneath the diaphragm, and open the inlet.
