Class 68(1) In a shovelling machine having a scoop 14 tiltably mounted at 13 on a cranked jib 14 pivotally mounted at 10 on a turret 9 rotatable about a vertical axis on a vehicle 1, the tilting of the scoop in respect of the jib is caused by a double-acting jack 25 pivotally secured to the turret and to a lever 27 rotatably mounted on the arm 11. The lever 27 actuates a linkage 29, 31, 33 to rotate the bucket about the axis 13. Lowering of the jib 14 is effected by the weight, thereof, whilst it is raised by a singleacting jack 20 articulated to the turret 9 close to the axis 10 and diametrically opposite to the connection 24 between the jack 25 and the turret 9.
