Abstract

In a shovelling machine a shovel tilt linkage comprises a link 20 pivotally connected to the vehicular chassis of the machine, a link 18 pivotally connected to the link 20 and to a shovel-carrying lift arm 14 pivoted on the chassis, a piston-cylinder actuator 12 pivoted to the link 18, and a link 19 pivoted on the arm 14 and to the actuator 12. The link 19 and actuator 12 are at their point of connection connected to a bucket-tilt link 21. The linkage 18, 20, 12, 19 is so dimensioned that in one position of the actuator 12 the pivot points of the linkage lie at the corners of a parallelogram. With such a tilt linkage by appropriate operation of the piston-cylinder actuators 11, 12 of the machine the bucket 17 can be swung relative to the arm 14 through an angle of up to 170‹. Adjustable stop means 25 are provided on the arm 14 for limiting said angular movement of the bucket, which is provided with a digging edge 23 and a grading edge 24.
