Abstract

752,189. Rotary clothes drying apparatus. LOVELL MANUFACTURING CO. Nov. 26, 1954 [Jan. 15, 1954], No. 34314/54. Class 34(2). A tumbler clothes dryer has a drum 4 mounted on three pulleys to reduce noise of rotation, a shaft 20 having two pulleys 25 each having a rubber facing 26 engaging a groove 27 in the drum one pulley fixed to the shaft to drive the drum and one loose and a single idler pulley 28 with rubber surface 29 is supported in a castor 21. The door 3 of the cabinet 1 has a screen 5 to retain lint and heat is supplied to the drum by electric heater 6 and reflector 7. A duct 10 extending through the back wall 8 of the drum forms a casing for a fan 11 and the drum has flexible seals 14, 17. In a modification the single pulley is driven and the two pulleys are mounted for castor action.
