Abstract
1316613 Washing machines INDUSTRIE A ZANUSSI SpA 26 Oct 1970 [31 Oct 1969] 50820/70 Heading D1A In a cabinet type laundry washing and drying machine with sprinklers 16 for spraying washing and rinsing liquors the laundry 12 is hung on carriers 13 which are oscilatable, horizontally perpendicular to the surface of the hanging laundry. In Fig. 2 the carriers 13 are mounted on a frame 14 which is suspended by links 15 and 30, the latter being oscillated by a crank 28. The link 30 passes through a rubber member 31 which is said to act as a damper. The liquors are circulated by a pump 18 having an intake grid 191 and a filter screen 19 and the laundry is dried by air circulated by a fan 25 past a heater 24 the laundry and through a passage 23 with a cold water spray for condensing moisture. In a modification (Fig. 6, not shown) the carriers 13 are provided on two frames which are oscillated in opposite senses to one another by a crank mechanism. In a further modification, Fig. 10, the frame 14 is oscillated by two opposed jets 100 which operate alternately, or the frame may be oscillated by rotation of an eccentrically mounted rotor or other mass. Preferably the laundry is alternately sprinkled and oscillated.
