Abstract

1,018,259. Drying textiles. E. I. DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO. Dec. 11, 1964, No. 50616/64. Heading F4G. A process for drying dripping wet garments and other textile goods having at least a 50% content of synthetic fibres which comprises blowing moist air therethrough at a dry bulb temperature of at least 135‹ C. and a wet bulb temperature of at least 77‹ C. A garment 20 after laundering in water at 70‹ to 80‹ C. is suspended on a rack from an endless conveyer track 4 for passage through a drip area to release excess water and then passed through a tunnel drier 7 for agitation and drying by moist air at the above wet and dry bulb temperatures controlled by a steam vent 11 and heated by a steam coil 14, which air is circulated by a fan 10.
