Abstract
1,259,361. Laundering apparatus. BEGES A.G. 26 Feb., 1969 [18 March, 1968], No- 10389/69. Heading F4G. [Also in Division D1] Laundering apparatus comprising means for washing, rinsing and drying garments while hanging up in a washing and drying chamber wherein the air is cooled to condense the moisture therein as it leaves the chamber by a coolant circuit comprising a compressor, a condenser and an evaporator, the condenser being arranged to heat the drying air before it re-enters the washing and drying chamber. The apparatus comprises a cabinet with a hinged lid 1 held closed by a side door which operates a switch when it is closed. Lid 1 carries a sprinkler system 3 comprising tubes with holes 5 fed from a pipe 4 forming part of the hinge. Suds deposited on the clothes collect in a bottom tray 8 from which they are either pumped by pumps 11 back through a heater 13 to pipe 4 or to waste. Motor 25 drives pump 11 and the coolant circulating pump. Control and thermostat switches 29 and inlet door or drawer 30 for washing agent are provided adjacent the door. Garments may be carried on coat hangers 41 with an adjustable collar stretcher and a framework of vertical bar and transverse rods 44. Cuff stretchers 47 are provided and other garments may be pegged to rods 44.
