Abstract
751,313. Gas turbine plant. AKT.-GES. FUR TECHNISCHE STUDIEN. July 30, 1954 [Aug. 11, 1953], No. 22352/54. Class 110(3) [Also in Group XIII] Part of an intermittently produced heat carrier, e.g. exhaust gases from a steel furnace, heats a heat accumulator 11 and the remainder heats the working fluid of a thermal power plant, e.g. a gas turbine 2, in an indirect contact heat exchanger 1, and in those periods when no heat carrier is produced heat is given up by the heat accumulator to the working fluid of the thermal power plant. During such periods, valves 7 and 12 are closed, and a fan 17 blows gas through the heat accumulator 11 and heat exchanger 1 to transfer heat from the accumulator to the working fluid. If it is desired to cool the heat accumulator when the power plant is not working, the valve 14 is also closed and a valve 21 opened to exhaust the gas supplied by the fan 17.
