Abstract
1,208,294. Thermal regenerators. CLARKE, CHAPMAN & CO. Ltd. 25 Oct., 1968 [27 Oct., 1967], No, 48987/67. Heading F4K. [Also in Division F1] In a gas turbine plant the rate of heat transfer through a rotary regenerator R is controlled by varying the rotational speed of the regenerator in dependence upon the ambient temperature. The drum or the inlet and outlet hoods of the regenerator is/are driven through reduction gearing G by an auxiliary turbine T2. The latter is supplied with driving gas tapped from the exhaust stream of the main turbine T1 via a valve B controlled in response to ambient temperature.
