Abstract

A fibrous composition for building blocks comprises wood shavings, sawdust or wood-wool treated with calcium chloride solution of strength 25 grams to 500 litres of water, a mineral flux or filler, and cement, gypsum, water glass, magnesite or bitumen. The weight of binder is three times that of the treated wood shavings &c. According to the Provisional Specifications, the wood shavings &c. may be replaced by straw, reeds, peat, glass fibres or mineral wool.
