Abstract
749,757. Copy-turning. PROGRES INDUSTRIEL. March 2, 1953 [Jan. 8, 1953], No. 5745/53. Class 83 (3). A copying - lathe comprises a carriage movable on the lathe frame in the direction of the work axis, at least one tool-support on the carriage and movable transversely thereof, a hydraulic piston-and-cylinder having one of its members fixed to the carriage and the other secured to the tool-support, a liquid-distributer fixed on the lathe frame, a flexible pipe supplying pressure liquid from the distributer to the piston-and-cylinder, a template secured to the carriage, a feeler movably mounted on the distributer and maintained in contact with the template, and a valve in the distributer operable by the feeler to control the tool movements. The work 2 is operated on by tools 3-5, carried by rests 6-8, respectively, which are all mounted on a longitudinally-slidable carriage 27. The latter is moved along a vertical guideway 28, on the upper surface of which valve distributer 30, Fig. 2, and tracer are adjustably secured. Transverse feed of the tools is effected by piston-and-cylinders operating under control of templates 29 secured to the longitudinal carriage. The templates engage the tracers on the fixed distributers, one of the latter being provided for each transverse tool-slide.
