Abstract

737,066. Copy-planing. MAXNOVO MECCANICADI PRECISIONE SOC. PER AZIONI. Oct. 19, 1953, No. 28836/53. Class 83 (3). A hydraulic copy-shaping machine comprises a hydraulic cylinder 18 and piston 17 for moving a vertical slide 3 under the control of a feeler 13 in a valve casing 12 fixed to the machine framing, and a cross-slide 5 movable horizontally on the slide 3 and carrying a template 14 and the work 26. The slide 5 is moved to traverse the template 14 beneath the feeler 13 while the tool 7 is reciprocated to shape the work 26. Fluid is supplied to the valve by a motor-driven pump 21. The work-holder 6 may be set at an angle to the slide 5 to assist the tracer in surmounting steep portions of the template. In a modification, the valve casing 12, Fig. 4, is adjustable vertically and the template 14 is adjustable longitudinally on a bracket 15 adjustable vertically on the workholder 6. The vertical slide 3 is attached to, and moved by, two pistons 17 coacting with cylinder 18 attached to a vertically adjustable cross-piece 30.
