Abstract
748,580. Washing granular material. DORROLIVER, Inc., [formerly DORR CO.]. Nov. 9, 1953 [Aug. 7, 1953], No. 30987/53. Class 82(2). A hydraulic classifier comprises a bath 10 and a sands-receiving chamber 11 with a conveyer to evacuate it. A bottom plate 12 reciprocates around the axis X-X, being carried on a thrust bearing 16, and the sides of the bath are formed from a stationary cylindrical wall 19 supported by a cover structure 20. The coarse particles are discharged through the annular passage d and the fines fraction discharges over the weir 24. By controlling the super-elevation S, the C. G. of the " cut " or division into fines and coarse particles can be varied. A network of pipes 27 feed annular, jetemitting concentrically arranged, horizontally disposed pipes arranged controllably to discharge water at an angle towards the reciprocating bottom. The pulp to be treated is supplied at F. U.S.A. Specification 2,302,588 is referred to.
