Abstract
1441647 Drying wet granular or lumpy material KLOCKNER-HUMBOLDT-DEUTZ AG 28 Sept 1973 [30 Sept 1972] 45485/73 Heading F4G A device for continuously drying a wet granular or lumpy material comprises a vibrating conveyer trough which carries the material through a water removal zone 17 and a hot gas drying zone 20. As shown the conveyer trough 1 is enclosed and is mounted on springs 6. The bottom 2 of the conveyer is perforated such that in the water removal zone water passes therethrough on to an obliquely inclined member 14 and thence into a water drainage device 18. The device is divided into a material distribution chamber 22, the zones 17 and 20 and a discharge chamber 24, the two zones 17, 20 being separated by a flexible apron 21 and the drying zone 20 and discharge chamber 24 also being separated by a similar apron 25 which is adjustable in position. The floor 23 of the material distribution chamber 22 of an elastic material. Hot gas from a hot gas generator passes into a gas distribution device 3 through apertures 4 and is removed from the drying zone 20 through a line connected to a blower.
