Abstract

The cylinder's inner space can be connected to a compressed air supply, and its perimeter surface is permeable to air over at least a part of its area, thus permitting the product to be transferred on a cushion of air without contacting the cylinder. Pref. the perimeter surface of the cylinder is entirely permeable to air and a screen arranged within it limits the flow of air to the material deflection zone. More specif. the air supply can be heated.
