Abstract

1461038 Spray drier STORK AMSTERDAM BV 17 Feb 1975 6625/75 Heading B1B A spray drier comprises a chamber having means for introducing a carrier liquid and heating air at the top of the chamber, and an inverted conical or frustoconical outlet 18 at the bottom of the chamber, the outlet comprising an axially extending outlet 22, 24 for the air, and a sloping pervious bed 30 surrounding the outlet 22 and leading to a product outlet 46, 50, 52. Fluidizing air is delivered at 42 to the bed 30 through a plenum 40. The heating air follows the path indicated by the arrows on the Fig. cyclonic in the portion 18 and returning up the outside of the portions 20, 22 and down their interior.
