Magnetic separators. - In a wet magnetic separation process using roller or cylinder separators in which a film or wall of liquid is formed out of which the magnetic material is drawn, the film liquid is delivered from a sprayer 5 on the part of the drum 3 which is free from magnetic material, the latter having been removed at 4, and running down the drum forms, at the point of separation, a film between the drum 3 and the stream of slime &c. fed into the trough 1 from the hopper 2. The separating plant may be mounted so as to be inclined to the horizontal, the drum 3 being adjustable laterally in a direction transverse to its axis so that the film current will meet the slime current at the desired point. In a modification, a plurality of separating drums may be used.
