Abstract

686,226. Upward - current classifiers. KLOCNER-HUMBOLDT-DEUTZ AKT. GES. Aug. 23, 1951, No. 19879/51. Class 82(ii) An upward current classifier for coal or similar minerals using a suspension of fine solid material in water, has a subsidiary stream of liquid entering beneath the raw material inlet and directed toward the light material outlet to prevent accumulation of raw material beneath the inlet point. As shown the raw material is fed through a pipe 2 and falls on to a sieve 6. The suspension flows into the tank at 5 and upwardly through the sieve 6 and out of an outlet 3, carrying with it the light material. The heavy material falls down the sieve and is drawn out at 8, and a stream of liquid suspension from a channel 12 prevents accumulation of the raw material at the top of the sieve.
