Abstract
746,035. Bakers' ovens. BAKER PERKINS, Ltd. March 5, 1954 [March 6, 1953], No. 6241/53. Class 51(2). In a baking oven of the travelling conveyer type, steam escaping from the entrance to the baking chamber is returned to the baking, chamber at a suitable point or points through a recirculation system. The invention is shown applied to a baking oven with a conveyer 4 Fig. 1, in which a hood 2 extending over the width of the entrance 1 collects steam escaping from the oven chamber 3. A fan 9 draws the steam through a duct 7 and returns it to the oven chamber 3 through damper controlled nozzles 13 in a recirculation duct 12. In a modification Fig. 3, part of the steam may be diverted to a waste pipe 17 under control of a damper 18. This embodiment may have a by-pass duct 20 controlled by a valve 21 whereby oven atmosphere may be extracted through the duct 12, this latter provision not forming part of the invention.
