903,110. Bakers' ovens. BAKER PERKINS Ltd. (Baker Perkins Inc.). Feb. 12, 1960, No. 5122/60. Class 51 (2). In a continuous bakers' oven heated by transverse burners 30 and having a double lap conveyer 22, the oven atmosphere is re-circulated in zones A, B and C by systems each including a fan 38 connected to transverse headers 35, 35a in the oven by an extraction duct 36 and to a distributing duct 46 by an outlet duct 44, ducts 44 and 46 being located in the oven wall. Headers 35, 35a each have many air openings on the underside face obturated by a diagonal plate, Fig. 12 (not shown), to ensure substantially uniform extraction of the oven atmosphere. The distributing duct 46 comprises an inlet duct 48 feeding outlet ducts 50, 52 under control of a damper 56, extensions 62 and 64 being respectively provided for the ducts 50 and 52. Ducts 60, 62 and 52, 64 are disposed above and below a conveyer lap, and have outlets controlled by dampers 80 with external control knobs 84 to distributor tubes 66 extending across the oven and formed with spaced openings 68. The tubes 66 have closed ends extending through the oven wall 16, Fig. 5, whereby they may be rotated to vary the angle of distribution of the atmosphere gas.
