743,392. Joints for tubular members. SIEMENS - SCHUCKERTWERKE AKT. - GES. Dec. 17, 1953 [Dec. 23, 1952], No. 35174/53. Class 99(1). To allow for thermal expansion, a sealing ring 3 of L-shape in cross-section is interposed between a steam supply pipe 1 and the inner casing 2 of a double-wall turbine. The web 4 of the ring 3 is capable of axial movement in a groove 5, a steam-tight joint being provided by steam pressure, and the collar 6 is capable of radial sliding movement in a groove 10 formed between the end face of the pipe 1 and surfaces on a coupling-nut 7.
