Abstract

One side (6) of a collar is joined to one pipe (2), its other end (5) to a bellows (3) on the other pipe (1). A second bellows (10) on the collar extends along the first pipe. Surrounding this second bellows is a third bellows (9), attached to the collar and second bellows by flanges (11, 12) to form an annular compensation chamber (8). An insulated sleeve (15) encloses the assembly and is fixed to the second pipe and to the compensation chamber. Sleeve and ring are attached to a fourth sealing bellows (20) joined to a glass fibre plate (22) in the insulation (18) around the first pipe. The space in the sleeve (15) outside the compensation chamber (18) outside the bellows (3) and inside the sealing bellows (20) contains a gas which does not condense at the cryogenic temperature thus gas preventing compensation on the bellows.
