[Class 99 (i)] A tubular connection for inner and outer concentric tubes 11, 15, such as used in heatexchangers, includes an axially outwardly facing sealing surface 72 at or near the end of the outer tube 15, positioned adjacent an axially outwardly facing sealing surface 71 on the inner tube, means connected to the outer tube for drawing a sealing ring 47 towards the sealing surfaces, and stop means 48 interposed between the tubes for holding the inner tube against the pressure exerted by the sealing ring. In the embodiment shown the sealing surfaces are formed on collars 45, 46 welded to the tubes 15, 11, at 55, 56, and are engaged by a sealing gasket 67 which is pressed against them by the ring 47 which is drawn up by bolts 49 engaging the collar 45. An internal axially outwardly facing shoulder 59 is provided on the outer tube and an external axially inwardly facing shoulder 63 on the inner tube. These shoulders are engaged by a split-ring 48 and together constitute the above mentioned stop means. The drawings show another tube 20 connected to the inner tube 11, a collar 86 being welded to the tube 20 and having its end 77 abutting against a gasket 85 located in a recess 83 in the collar 46. A seal is obtained by tightening the bolts 52 so that the ring 51 engaged by these bolts is drawn up against the shoulder. 54 on the collar 86 causing the latter to compress the gasket 85. The four bolts 49 and the four bolts 52 engage the collar 45 of the outer tube, and the ring 51, which is engaged only by the bolts 52, is of the form shown in Fig. 6 so as to give easy access to the bolts 49.
