Abstract

740,452. Guided platform hoists. BRITISH HOIST & CRANE CO., Ltd., and EVANS, P. N. Sept. 18, 1953 [Sept. 19, 1952], No. 23580/52. Class 78 (3). The cat head of a scaffold hoist comprises an angle iron base 13 provided with sockets 17 which seat on, and are secured to, spigots 71 mounted at the upper ends of a pair of guides 12; a pulley 19 journalled between a pair of plates 20; and a brace 21 connected to the base at 14 and to the plates 20 at 22. A hoist rope 24 which is attached at one end to a winch (not shown) passes over pulley 19, under a pulley (not shown) on the platform and is anchored at 14 to the base 13. The hoist is stated to be constructed as described in Specification 722,376.
