Abstract

739,895. Ventilators. CRITTALL & CO., Ltd., R., and RHODES, F. June 30, 1954, No. 19153/54. Class 137. Louvres 4 for controlling the flow of air from a duct, not shown; are mounted on spindles 3 journalled in opposite sides of a frame 1, provided with a flange 2 when the duct opens, e.g. into a wall, a plate 5, vertically displaceable in a channel 6 in one side of the frame, being provided with pins 7 which engage in the open sides of the hollow louvres for simultaneously operating them. Mechanism for oscillating the plate 5 comprises a short spindle 9 journalled in a plate 10 attached to the frame 1 and carrying a crank having a pin 12 which projects through a slot in one arm of an " L ''-shaped plate, the other arm of which is attached to the plate 5. A square hole 16 in the spindle 9 is engageable by a key for adjusting the inclination of the louvres.
