Abstract

863,760. Dampers. CRITTALL & CO. Ltd., R., and RHODES, F. Dec. 16, 1958, No. 40512/58. Class 137 A regulating damper fitted in an air duct comprises four or more blades 1 rotatable about parallel axes 2 and located in two sets on opposite sides of a line parallel to the blades and regulating mechanism, which mechanism simultaneously rotates each set of blades in opposite directions so that in the closed position the blades extend transversely of the duct and each blade overlaps and bears on an adjacent blade and also on a flange 24 extending inwardly of the duct. A central supporting bar 4 carries sliding bars 5 and 6 which are connected by pins 9 and slots 8 to the blades 1 and the sliding motion of the bars 5 and 6 which is effected by means of spindle 11 rotates the two sets of blades 1 in opposite directions.
