Abstract

903,688. Ventilators. CARRIER ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. Oct. 13, 1960 [Oct. 14, 1959], No. 34882/59. Class 137. A ventilator outlet connected to the end of an air supply duct 3 for directing ventilating air in a number of independently-adjustable directions into an enclosure, comprises a grille 6, formed with a series of elongated apertures 7, in each of which a spindle 11 is pivotally mounted in sealing engagement, each spindle including an elongated outlet slot 23, and the spindles being independently adjustable. The grille 6 is attached to supply duct 3 with two webs 12 which are bolted into clips 13. Two parallel spring wires 21 press the spindles 11 resiliently against the apertures of the grille, the retaining force being supplied by two notches 22 in each web 12. Between the main air supply duct 1 and supply duct 3, is a connecting supply duct, which contains a sound deadening box 2, lined with a sound-insulating material.
