Abstract
739,885. Hot-water boilers. SLATER, A. W. May 13, 1954 [May 28, 1953], No. 14019/54. Class 64 (1). A water-heating vessel, especially for outdoor use, comprises an open-ended tubular member 3 which encloses a flue 2, a surrounding jacket 4 which with the tubular member 2 forms an annular water space 1 decreasing in size from top to bottom, and a casing 6 surrounding the jacket and forming with it a second flue 9 which is open to the atmosphere at its upper part, the casing 6 extending below the bottom of the water space so as to form a fireplace 11 which communicates with both flues. The casing 6 may be of truncated conical shape as shown, and have vents 13 in its upper part and inwardly projecting nodules 10 engaging with the jacket 4. Alternatively, the casing may be cylindrical and open at the top. The casing may be separable from the water jacket, and have a handle. A spout la is provided.
