Abstract
891,742. Pot burners; heating stoves. ANDERTON, H. Nov. 8, 1960 [Nov. 4, 1959], No. 37353/59. Classes 75(1) and 126 [Also in Group XTII] An oil burner comprises a perforated cylindrical combustion chamber 2 closed at the bottom by a pan 3 mounted on one end of a pivoted lever 6. The other end of the lever 6 carries an adjustable weight 9. Oil drips on to the pan 3 from a conduit 11 extending from a shut-off valve 12 which is slidably mounted to allow the conduit 11 to be withdrawn from the burner. A further fuel valve closes automatically if the burner overheats. The top of the combustion chamber 2 is secured to an annular plate 17 supported on a tripod 19. A finned flue stack 21 extends between the annular plate 17 and a cowl on the upper end of the tripod 19. The upper part of the combustion chamber may extend through the water of a boiler and circulation tubes may extend across the combustion chamber; or the upper end of the combustion chamber is connected to a flue extending horizontally through a boiler.
