Abstract
739,725. Rotary engines or pumps. DELAFONTAINE, R. M. G. Jan. 8, 1954 (Jan. 8, 1953], No. 614/53. Class 110 (2). A rotary pump or engine having outwardly sliding vanes co-operating with a casing the cross-section of which is a conchoid of a circle, in which a connection between the vanes ensures the mutual equilibrium of the centrifugal forces acting on the vanes, said connection comprising pins 5, 6 provided at the centres of these vanes 3, 4 and rolling on the interior surface of rings 7 coupling them. One vane 3 has a hollow 8 and the other vane 4 consists of two halves 9, 10 which are introduced through the hollow 8 and then joined together to form the vane 4. Lubricant is introduced through a passage 11 in a spindle of the drum 2 in which the vanes slide and passes via a chamber 14 and a passage in the pins 5 to the interior surface of the ring 7 and some splashes onto the vanes. The flange 12 forming the chamber 14 is pressed against the drum 2 by springs 13. There are several tangential inlet and outlet ports. The drum 2 may be formed from four quadrants secured to end plates.
