739,168. Wave-guides. METROPOLITANVICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. Nov. 18, 1953 [Dec. 5, 1952], No. 30946/52. Class 40 (8). Rectangular wave-guides X,X<SP>1</SP>, Y, Y<SP>1</SP> having the broad wall of one against the narrow wall of the other, are coupled by a pair of oblique, parallel slots, spaced apart by a distance of approximately #g/4, so that some of the energy transmitted along the guide X, X<SP>1</SP> in the direction of the arrow may be fed downwards along the guide Y, Y<SP>1</SP>. The guides may be arranged obliquely instead of at right angles to each other.
