Abstract

702,139. Waveguides. MINISTER OF SUPPLY. July 10, 1951 [July 25, 1950], No. 18523/50. Class 40 (8) A device for guiding slow electromagnetic waves consists of an elongated flat sheet having inductive faces. For this purpose the sheet may be provided with transversely arranged slots each approximately half a free-space wave-length long. As shown the sheet may be thickened along a central region to increase the self capacity of the slots. The device may be used in free space or be arranged along a central plane of a rectangular shaped wave guide.
