Abstract
747,303. Hybrid wave-guide junctions. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. April 15, 1954, No. 11154/54. Class 40 (8). A hybrid wave-guide structure of the Magic-T type comprises guides of rectangular crosssection with sides of ratio substantially equal to three to one, the two symmetrical arms 3, 4 extending parallel to the direction of the E-arm 1. The E-arm 1 is matched to the junction by means of inductive slots 5, 6 and screws 7, 8 which are series-tuned with the slots. The H-arm 2 is matched by means of screws 9, 10 and an inductive diaphragm (not shown). In addition a matching post (not shown) extends from the broad side of the H-arm 2 opposite the end of the E-arm 1. The symmetrical arms 3, 4 are spaced apart by a distance equal to onethird of the broad dimension of the guides.
