736,547. Securing elements to shafts. LUCAS (INDUSTRIES), Ltd., J. April 13, 1954 [April 15, 1953], No. 10278/53. Class 80 (2). An element c, Fig. 3, such as the boss of a windscreen wiper arm is secured to a spindle d by means of a wedge f which is forced into a tapered groove in the element c by means of a screwed bush g. The wedge f may be of semicircular form as in Fig. 4 or in the form of a key as in Fig. 6. The sleeve part e may be completely circular and may have a radial flange h formed thereon to facilitate withdrawal of the wedge. In Fig. 6, the spindle d is secured to a cylindrical bush i which is secured in the boss c by means of a set-screw.
