A gear-wheel 2 or like machine element is formed with a relatively thin and radially deformable unslotted hub portion 3 receiving a shaft 1, a collar 5 surrounding the hub having two inwardly directed pimples 6 and a hole for a set-screw 7 which is tightened to clamp the gearwheel &c. to the shaft.
