Abstract
736,123. Photographic developers. TAUSCH, E., and PHOTOGRAPHICA GES. FUR PHOTOGRAPHISCHE INDUSTRIE. April 9,1953 [April 10, 1952], No. 9637/53. Class 98(2). A photographic developer for the processing of exposed photographic papers contains a substantially colourless fluorescent organic substance which will absorb ultra-violet radiation of between about 3000 to 4000 angstrom units and emit light of between about 4000 to 5500 anstrom units, and which will attach itself in substantive manner to the paper or its coatings. Numerous compounds are specified, including 4 : 41 - di - (acylamino) - stilbenes, 4 : 41 - di - (ureido) - stilbenes, 4: 4<SP>1</SP> - di- [triazin - (1<SP>11</SP> : 3<SP>11</SP> : 5<SP>11</SP>) - yl - (2<SP>1</SP>) - amino)]- stilbenes, unsymmetrical stilbene derivatives such as 4-ureido-4<SP>1</SP>-acylaminostilbenes and 4- [triazin - (1<SP>11</SP> : 3<SP>11</SP> : 511) - yl - (2<SP>11</SP>) - amino]- 41 - acylaminostilbenes, α : # - di - [benzimidazolyl - (2)] - ethylenes, and 4 : 5 - diarylimidazolones-(2), which are substantive to the emulsion and its support. In examples 1 to 3, a : # - di - [(x) - sulphobenzimidazolyl - (2)]- ethylene, sodium 4 : 41 - di - (phenylureido), stilbene - 2 :2<SP>1</SP> - disulphonate, and sodium 4 : 41 - di - [4<SP>11</SP> - hydroxy - 611 - anilinotriazin- (1<SP>11</SP> : 3<SP>11</SP> : 5<SP>11</SP>) - yl - (2) - amino] - stilbene- 2 :2<SP>1</SP>-disulphonate respectively are added to p - methylaminophenol sulphate - hydroquinone developers for photographic prints. In example 4, the stilbene derivative of example 3 is added to a colour developer. Specifications 624,052 and 645,413, [both in Group IV (c)], are referred to. ______
