479,446. Photographic developing processes. I. G. FARBENINDUSTRIE AKT.- GES. Aug. 5, 1936, No. 21550. Convention date, Aug. 31, 1935. [Class 98 (ii)] A fine-grain developing process consists in treating the exposed layer with a developing solution containing a pyrimidine substituted in 2: 5-position by amino and/or hydroxyl groups, or a derivative of such compounds. used alone or in combination with each other or with the usual developing agents such as metol or hydroquinone. The pyrimidine derivative may be incorporated in the emulsion, support or intermediate or other layers, and the exposed material developed in an alkaline solution or in a normal developer. Compounds referred to are 4 : 5-diamino-2 : 6-dioxypyrimidine sulphate, 6-oxy-2 : 4 : 5-triaminopyrimidine sulphate, 2 : 4 : 5 : 6-tetra-aminopyrimidine sulphate, 2 : 5-diamino-4-methyl-pyrimidine sulphate, sodium 6-oxy-2 : 4 5-triaminopyrimidine sulphate, and 2:4: 5-trioxy-6. amino-pyrimidine sulphate.
