735,088. Hydraulic brakes. SPRINGMEIER, E. H. Aug. 28, 1953 [Sept. 2, 1952], No. 23823/53. Class 103 (1). [Also in Group XXII] A master cylinder unit for use in hydraulic brake systems for motor vehicles, comprises a preformed cylinder 24 preferably of aluminium alloy provided with smooth long-wearing bore for a piston assembly, a metallic casting, e.g. of aluminium alloy, surrounding and bonded to said cylinder and including a brake fluid reservoir 30 and a preformed member at one end of said cylinder reducing the effective internal diameter of said cylinder and providing a shoulder to form a valve seat within said cylinder. The preferred member is a steel ring 42. Specification 735,090 is referred to.
