1299629 Fluid pressure brakes WESTING- HOUSE BREMSEN-UND APPARATEBAU GmbH 9 Oct 1970 [3 Nov 1969] 48140/70 Heading F2F An hydraulic brake assembly with a reservoir 3 charged by a pump 1 includes a driver valve assembly 5 comprising two throttles 6, 7 connected in series of which throttle 6 is formed by a piston 8 with an annular recess 14 movable to connect recesses 12, 13 and supply fluid to the brakes and throttle 7 has a piston 16 displaceable in a cylinder 15 under the influence of pressure in the system, and a brake line 21 including an orifice 25 across which pressure is developed by the flow of fluid in use. Operation of the brake pedal opens throttle 6 to allow fluid to flow along duct 19 to lift piston 16 and open throttle 7 to allow fluid to flow into the brake line 21, generating a pressure head at the orifice 25 and applying pressure to the brake cylinders 23 so that a reactive pressure is applied to the piston 8 to give a "feel" at the brake pedal.
