Abstract

507,989. Hydraulic brakes. FARINA, G. Feb. 13, 1939, No. 4717. [Class 103 (i)] Master cylinders for hydraulic brakes comprise a casting 1 of cast iron or light alloys and a steel liner 3 screwed into the end of the casting. Communication between the cylinder and reservoir when the piston 2 is in the normal position is provided by a clearance space 5 and an annular slot between the end of the liner and a shoulder 1a on the casting. A construction is shown in which the casting 1 comprises also an air pressure cylinder for operating the master cylinder.
