Class 122(1) A piston 1 for the master cylinder 2 in a hydraulic' control system, particularly for the brakes of motor vehicles, comprises a packing 9 mounted on the end of the piston subjected to the pressure medium and a double-lipped packing 10 provided on the rear portion of the piston. The packing 10 is located on the piston by annular ribs 13 which engage grooves in the piston, and the lip of greater diameter is directed towards the closed end of the piston.
