Abstract

733,295. Lamps combined with door handles. PORSCHE, F. Oct. 21, 1953 [Dec. 18, 1952; Feb. 27, 1953], No. 29042/53. Classes 75 (3) and 75 (4). [Also in Group XTV] A light source, e.g. a lamp 4, Fig. 2, is mounted within a vehicle door handle 3, a part 5 of which is of translucent material for transmitting light to indicate a lateral limit of the vehicle, and a downwardly facing part 6 is of transparent material for transmitting a light beam to illuminate the door lock 8. In an alternative construction the lamp 13, Fig. 5, is contained in a depending part 15 of the door handle 12 provided with a front transparent window 19, a translucent rear window 20, preferably coloured red, and a downwardly facing transparent window 23 for illuminating the door lock 21. The lamp 13 may have two filaments, one serving as a parking light and the other as a blinker, and a further transparent window may be provided in the lateral outer face of the part 15.
