Abstract
732,332. Loom picking-motions. SULZER FRERES SOC. ANON. Oct. 26, 1953 [Nov. 3, 1952], No. 29593/53. Class 142(2). In a spring picking-motion similar to that described in Specification 732,333, the picking arm 4 is held on the hollow shaft 2, and is actuated, solely by the friction produced by a clamp 17. The toggle may be upset by a trip lever that may be cam actuated. The end of the shaft 2 may be slotted so that it is resilient. In an alternative construction, Fig. 4, the arm 4 is clamped frictionally by a nut against a shoulder 47 on a torsion bar, the hollow shaft 2 being dispensed with, and the arm is retained in the loaded position by the engagement of a projection 49 with a disc 50 and is released when the disc is rotated so that its part 52 is clear of the projection. The torsion bar or the spring contained in the shaft 2 could be replaced by a tension or a compression spring having one end connected to an arm on the shaft or bar carrying the arm 4. A cam mechanism could load such a spring. Specification 476,352 also is referred to.
