731,123. Dry shavers. RICQ, J. June 15, 1953 [June 16, 1952], No. 16352/53. Class 131. An electric dry shaver comprises at least one head having a cutting member movable beneath a perforated guard member and having at least one brush member the bristles of which extend beyond the guard member to straighten the hairs to be shaved. As shown, each side of a rectangular shaving head 2 is provided with a plate 8 adjustable on pins 9 and having an outwardly curved portion 21 apertured at 24 to receive groups of bristles 23. In modifications the bristles may be mounted in extensions of the guard plate, arranged in radial rows in a circular guard plate, or form a ring surrounding the guard plate and held in position by a collar. The invention includes a hair-lifting brush to be mounted as an accessory on an existing dry shaver and an improved shaving head having a hair-lifting brush, to replace an existing head.
