Abstract
A Ti-base alloy consists of at least 80 per cent Ti and 0.5-15 (preferably 2-8) per cent in total of one or more lanthanides or U or Th. The alloy may also contain Be, V, Cr, Ni, Co, Cb, Ta, Mo, W and Rh, the proportions of these elements being less than 5 per cent individually and less than 12 per cent in total. The lanthanide is preferably other than La.
