Abstract

725,984. Chain gearing. DAIMLER-BENZ AKT.-GES. March 27, 1953 [March 28, 1952], No. 8555/53. Class 80 (1). In order to limit oscillations of a chain such as that driving the cam shaft 12 of an internal combustion engine, narrow rails of rubber or like sound-damping material are inserted in fixed members 16, 17, so that the rails engage only the rollers of the chain. Where the chain has multiple links a corresponding number of rails are provided in each fixed member. Lubricating bores may be provided. The chain is tensioned by a wheel 15.
